Seward had an eventful Wednesday.  Earlier in the day, they moved up to number 11 in the NJCAA poll, then won their home opener.  Seward beat Garden City 3-0 (25-12, 25-6, 25-19) in front of a good opening night crowd in the Green House.  Seward hit .398 in the win.  Viviane Viana had 13 kills.  Giovanna Tapigliani had 12 kills.  Erica Ferreira had seven kills.  Giovanna Kuntze had 37 assists and 13 digs.  Nathiellen Machado had 17 digs.  The Saints have won 21 in a row over the Broncbusters and are 31-3 all time against GCCC.

Seward is 6-0 and 2-0 in the Jayhawk West.  They head back on the road playing at Odessa Friday and Saturday.  Seward faces Odessa at noon Friday and Temple in Odessa Friday at 6.  SCCC faces Richland at 9 Saturday morning before playing Western Texas Saturday at 3.  Seward’s next conference match is at Cloud Monday night.  The next home match is Wednesday against Dodge City.
