Rattlers Take Two on Day 1 on Southwest Diamond Classic

The 18U Liberal Rattlers won their first two games of the Southwest Diamond Classic in Liberal Friday.  They defeated Moscow 8-0 Friday afternoon and Guymon 12-0 Friday night at the National Beef Family Sports Complex.

In game one vs. Moscow, Kaleb Wilmes pitched five strong innings allowing just three hits.  Hie had five strikeouts.  Alex Yanez pitched a scoreless inning.  Woelfle, who joined the Rattlers from Pampa, was 3-4 with two doubles and three RBI’s.  Cesar Burciaga was 2-3 with two RBI’s.

In game two, The Rattlers scored four in the first and eight in the second on the way to a blowout win.  Guymon had one hit as Javier Bojorquez pitched all three innings.  Woelfle was 3-3 and Burciaga was 2-2.  Anguiano, who also joined the team from Pampa, was 2-2.

The Rattlers play Canon City, Colorado at 1 Saturday.
