The Dodge City Red Demons scored four in the fifth on the way to a 5-2 win over the Liberal Redskins Friday night. The game came after Liberal’s senior night ceremony at the National Beef Family Sports Complex.

Liberal got off to a strong start buoyed by Cole Evans first inning home run over the left field fence for his fourth homer of the season and ninth as a Redskin. LHS turned three double plays early on. Dodge City tied the game 1-1 in the third. The Demons broke the game open with four in the fifth. The Redskns loaded the bases with no outs in he bottom of the inning but only scored one run. DCHS out hit LHS 7-6. The Skins committed three errors giving them 16 for their 0-5 week. Braxton Hyde pitched 2.2 scoreless in relief while Evans and Kaleb Wilmes had two hits a piece.

Dodge City wins a share of the WAC with a 5-3 record along with 5-3 Garden City. The Redskins are 9-5 overall and 1-3 in the WAC. Hays is 3-3 and Great Bend is 2-4.
