Redskins Sweep Guymon

Liberal won a pair of run rules over Guymon Saturday afternoon at the National Beef Family Sports Complex in Liberal.  LHS won 12-2 and 18-3.

In game one Cole Evans pitched four innings and struck out 10 in the win.  He did not allow an earned run.  Kaleb Wilmes pitched two scoreless innings.  Evans was 2-4 with five RBI’s and two doubles.  Evans is closing in on the school RBI record.  Wilmes was 2-2 with a triple and Cade Hinkle was 2-4.  LHS scored two in the first, second, and fourth innings before chasing home four in the fifth and two in the sixth for a run rule.  LHS out-hit the Tigers 11-2.  LHS walked 12 times.

The Redskins made quicker work of the Tigers in game two.  The game only went three innings as the Skins scored seven in the first, two in the second, and nine in the third.  Jett Brown and Cade Hinkle had two hits a piece.  Guymon walked 11.  Braxton Hyde pitched three innings for the win.

Liberal is 6-0 and plays at Hays Thursday at 2 with Redskin Pre-game at 1:45 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
