Liberal won handily in their final game of the Wichita South Titan Classic.  The Redskins defeated Wichita Southeast 7-0 Saturday at Wichita South.  LHS led 3-0 at the half with two goals from Sabrina Pacheco and one from Kim Alarcon.  Demaric Neal and Alarcon dished first half assists.  Monica Aquino scored back to back goals in the second half.  Kayla Gokey and Gisselle Melendez added goals.  Melendez and Alexa Puerto added second half assists.  Reyna Gonzalez pitched her first shutout of the season as LHS goalie.  LHS led shots on goal with 23 and led corner kicks 24-1.  Head coach Carlos Ruiz liked what he saw.

“We came out aggressive and did a lot of things well that we failed to do the first two games of the tournament,” Ruiz said. “The team came out disciplined and we improved out execution on the offensive side of the ball.  We still have work to do but it’s always a good thing being able to put in seven.  Now we have to go back to work Monday and get ready for two tough conference games on Tuesday and Thursday.”

Liberal is 2-3 and plays at Great Bend Tuesday and at Hays Thursday.
