Lady Redskins Grab at Least a Share of WAC

The Liberal Lady Redskins clinch at least a share of the WAC title with a 52-43 win at Garden City Tuesday night.  Liberal is 6-1 in the WAC while Great Bend is 5-2.  Liberal hosts Dodge City Thursday and Great Bend plays at Hays Friday.

The Lady Redskins led 13-12 after one and 28-22 at the half on Garden City’s Senior Night.  Liberal led 42-25 after three.  It was 40-30 LHS after three.  The led by as many 12 at 38-26 and 44-32.  Garden City cut the lead to 44-38 before Whitney Hay sunk a baseline jumper.

Jada Mickens had yet another double double with 12 points and 14 rebounds.  Hay scored 11.  Reyna Gonzalez scored eight.

Liberal sweeps Garden City for a second straight season.  LHS is 15-4 and 6-1 in the WAC.  The Lady Buffaloes are 5-15 and 1-7 in the WAC.  The Lady Skins host Dodge City Thursday night at 6 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.  Redskin Pre-game begins at 5:45.  National Beef bought out the game so admission is free.
