Liberal City Commission Meets, Reorganizes

The Liberal City Commission met Wednesday evening for their first meeting of 2017.

First up on the agenda was the election of Mayor and Vice Mayor. The Commission select Joe Denoyer to serve as Mayor for the upcoming year and Tony Martinez to serve as Vice Mayor.

After a short recess, the Commissioners approved the City’s portion of the Truancy and Teen Court programs. The School Board and County Commission had already approved their portions at previous meetings.

City Commissioners then approved Adventure Bay Waterpark improvements which will include a new chlorine system, and the painting of the pools and water slides.

At the meeting John Garinger, Justin Alexander, and Jim Betts were all appointed to the Arkalon Council Board.

The next City Commission meeting will be January 24th.
