A Windy Day of WAC Tennis at Blue Bonnet Park

The Western Athletic Conference tennis title was determined Monday at Rowley Tennis Courts in Liberal.  With winds at up to 30-40 miles per hour whipping down on Blue Bonnet Park, Garden City won the WAC with 11 points.  Hays was second with 11.  Dodge City had 10.  Liberal scored six for fourth.  Great Bend had two.  Tierra Stoney led the way for LHS going 3-1 in singles.  Reyna Quinones and Rebecca Irby were 2-2 in number two doubles while Valery Esqueda won a match at number two doubles.  Liberal competes at regionals at Goddard Eisenhower on Saturday with Eisenhower, Goddard, Ark City, Andover, Bishop Carroll, and Kapaun.
