Increased Numbers and Returning Talent have Elkhart on the Rise

Brock Kappelmann - August 31, 2016 1:29 pm

Elkhart is a team to watch in 2016.  They have a new head coach Chris Hattabaugh.  He saw the Wildcats go 4-5 last year as a principal.  He stepped in as head coach and principal during the off season.  Hattabaugh was a six year head coach at 4A Smokey Valley.  The Wildcats have 35 out for football with eight starters back on offense and seven back on defense.  Elkhart has 11 seniors.  And success isn’t far back in the rear view mirror as the Cats were 7-3 in 2014 and 8-2 in 2013.  Some key Elkhart players are Sr. RB/MLB Shon Villa, Sr. QB Tyler Sklenar, Jr. G/DE and Hugoton transfer Damyan Donjuan, and Jr OL/DL Caleb Orth.  Elkhart was featured during the Tuesday Sportsguys.
