The Liberal girls golf team opened their season with a third place finish out of eight at Hays on Monday.  LHS shot a 209.  Corey Mein led Liberal with a 47 for sixth and Sarah Bayouth was eighth with a 48.  TMP won the tournament with a 193 while Hays took second with a 203.  Liberal goes to Dodge City September 8.

Here is coach Jessica Tercero’s write up of the tournament.

On Monday the LHS Girls Golf team opened their season at Hays. The girls
had to battle the weather starting the tournament in a down pour and having
to finish quickly, getting inside before the second round of weather came
in. The team finished 3rd out of 8 (2nd out of the WAC schools) with a team
score of 209. We had two individuals medal; Corey Mein placed 6th with a 47
and Sarah Bayouth placed 8th shooting a 48. The girls wanted to come out
and make a statement this year that we were the team to beat. I think they
had a great showing and now we know what we need to focus on in practice
this week so we can build on this for the Dodge City tournament coming up
next Thursday.

Corey Mein 47

Sarah Bayouth 48

Sarah Aichele 55

Hannah Chacon 59
