City Commission Meets, Approves Special Assessments

The Liberal City commission met Tuesday evening at 5:30pm for their regular meeting. Among the items on the agenda, the commission approved the sale of General Obligation Bonds in the amount of $954,999 in Special Assesments for water, sewer, and road improvements in North Liberal for Pinnacle Developments LLC, Terra LLC, and Liberal Property LLC. These temporary notes will provide interim construction financing for the development project.

Commissioners also approved a Rural Housing Incentive District, RHID, agreement with A&V Duplexes, for the construction of duplexes at The Village At The Plaza. The development will include the construction of 4 duplexes, which is 8 units.

The City Commission approved the purchase of a commercial washer/extractor for the Fire Department, and the purchase of a VACTRON for the Water Department.

The Commission also approved the adding of an additional $36,000.00 to the Senior Housing Programs, specifically for, Exterior Repairs, Emergency Repairs, and Weatherization. Applications for these programs can be picked up at the Housing Department inside City Hall.

The Liberal City Commission will meet as part of the Council of Governments meeting on Thursday.
