Glenn Edward Long, age 72 died Tuesday morning, January 7, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Society, Dodge City, Kansas

He was born May 7, 1941 at Hopkinsville, Kentucky, son of Lyman Parker Long and Nancy Eunice Batts. He lived in Fowler, Kansas, and Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Glenn was a happy kind person and everyone was his friend.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Keystone Class. Glenn lived at the Good Samaritan home for about 47 years. He enjoyed volunteering at the Dodge City Library and attending church. He also enjoyed his trips out of town to the Houston Space Center, libraries and museums, and his 50 th high school reunion in Arkansas.

He is survived by: his sister, Janet Susan Long Casey and her children and grandchildren.

Cousins: Bruce Long, Lynda Korsan, and Darla Newman and her children and grandchildren.

A nephew Michael Long, son of deceased brother William George Long.

A half-brother Gary Lyman Long.

A niece and nephew: Michelle Ann Pelham and Joseph Frank Mako, the children of his deceased sister Doris Ann Long Mako.

Reverend Lance Carrithers will conduct Services Sat January 18, 2014 at 10 am, First United Methodist Church, 2012 Soule, Dodge City Kansas. The family suggest donations to the Dodge City Library.

Private family graveside services will be held at a later date with inurnment to follow in the Fowler Cemetery alongside his grandparents Lillian Nancy Parker Long and William Abraham Long, mother Nancy Eunice Batts Long, and brother William George Long. Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade, Kansas, has been entrusted with services.
