Arnold H. Regier

Arnold H. Regier, 97, died Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Liberal Good Samaritan Center in Liberal, KS.

He was born December 14, 1915 in Beaver County, OK on the family farmstead, the son of Henry and Lena (Nachtigal) Regier.

He married Helen Mae Dirks September 20, 1940 at Turpin, OK., She preceded him in death on May 30th, 1991. Arnold later married Luella Schmidt on March 6, 1993 at Newton, KS., she also preceded him in death on December 13, 2009.

Arnold attended Pleasant Valley School and also attended the Oklahoma Bible Academy in Meno, OK for two winters. He was a Farmer and Carpenter in the Turpin community before retiring in 1989. Arnold enjoyed woodworking, puzzles and brain teasers, and spending the winter months in Truth or Consequences, NM with his wife Helen. Later enjoying traveling with his second wife Luella. He was a member of the Turpin Mennonite Church and Turpin Senior Citizens Center. He was also a volunteer at the Liberal ETC. Shop.

His survivors include 2 Sons – Lonny Regier and wife Mary of North Newton, KS., Marlin Regier and wife Lou Ella of Turpin, OK,; 2 Step Sons – Jim Schmidt and wife Shari of Wichita Falls, TX., Ted Schmidt and wife Paula of Turpin, OK; 1 Step Daughter – Donna Evans and husband Jerry of Turpin, OK. Grandchildren – Kim Reeves and husband Corey of Wamego, KS., Scott Regier of Denver, CO., Shannon Ferguson and husband Joe of Yukon, OK, Carly Hardman and husband Trent of Littleton, CO. Great Grandchildren – Cody and Carter Reeves, Reese Ferguson, and Marley and McKinley Hardman. Twelve step grandchilden and 19 step great grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters-in-law – Sally Regier, Evelyn Regier and Florence Regier as well as many nieces and nephews.

Arnold was also preceded in death by 1 Step Daughter – Mary Ann Morris, 3 Brothers – Dave, Henry Alvin and Eugene; and 4 sisters – Anna Koehn, Agnes Buller, Esther Epp and Tillie Schmidt.

Visitation will be 12:00 Noon to 8:00 PM Tuesday October 22, 2013 at Miller Mortuary.

Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at the Turpin Mennonite Church with Pastor Terry Rediger officiating. Burial following at the Turpin Mennonite Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials to the Turpin Mennonite Church in care of Miller Mortuary.
