Harold D. Reid, 90, died Friday September 27, 2013 at Liberal Good Samaritan Center .
He was born November 24, 1922 at Christfield, KS, the son of Clemmie and Mary (Barnet) Reid.
He married Irene Shriner on December 8, 1956 in Tucumcari, NM. She preceded him in death on February 28, 2003.
Harold was a graduate of Attica High School class of 1938. He joined the US Army serving in WWII in the Philippines. He had worked for the Gyp Mill in Medicine Lodge, KS and drove truck for many different companies. He was a Truck Driver for Cobra Chemical Co for 20+ years before retiring in 2003. He enjoyed the outdoors, KU Basketball, camping, gardening , cooking and vanilla ice cream! He was a member of the Liberal and Medicine Lodge VFW’s.
His survivors include 2 Daughters – Faith Holifield and husband Larry of Liberal, KS; Deborah Lynn Whiteley of Liberal, KS; Son – George Reid and wife Renee of Mesa, AZ. 7 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by 3 Brothers, 4 Sisters and 1 Great Grandson.
Visitation will be Thursday October 3, 2013 from 12:00pm – 8:00pm at Miller Mortuary. Family will be present to receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30.
Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am Friday at Miller Mortuary Chapel with Dr. Jack Jacob Officiating. Burial will be at 3:30pm at the Highland Cemetery in Medicine Lodge, KS.
