Dorothy Mae Harris

Dorothy Mae Harris 89, died Thursday, July 4, 2013, at her residence in Liberal.

She was born Oct. 18, 1923, to William and Dorothy McMahon in Englewood, Colo.

She married Dr. Norvan Harris April 2, 1948, in Wichita. He died Aug. 14, 2011.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, DAR, and PEO.

She enjoyed Knitting, Cross Stitching and Needle Point.

Survivors include two sons, Van Harris and wife, Cheryl, Augusta, and William D. Harris and wife, Charmaine, Meade; two daughters, Cynthia Perry and husband, Mike, Houston, and Janet Harris, Quinter; one sister, Marion Becker, Wichita; five grandchildren, Hillerie Fitzgerald, Garret Perry, Cameron Perry, Ryan Harris and John Harris; and one great-grandchild, Reid Harris.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

• Funeral service will at 11 a.m. Monday at Brenneman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Randall presiding.

Burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bird City Cemetery, Bird City, with the Rev. Thomas Bailey presiding.

Friends may call from 1-5 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to service time Monday.The casket will remain closed.

In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are suggested to the Norvan and Dorothy Harris Scholarship at Fort Hays State University or First United Methodist Church in care of Brenneman Funeral Home, 1212 W. Second, Liberal, KS 67901.
