Raymond Tuttle Goff, age 88, of Ulysses, Kansas, formerly of Quinter, Kansas died Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses, Kansas. He was born May 31, 1924 in Quinter, Kansas, the son of Paul and Gertrude (Tuttle) Goff.
Raymond grew up in Quinter and graduated from Quinter High School. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. On August 21, 1948, Raymond married Ruth Schmidt in Menter, Kansas. Raymond and his family lived in Salina for 10 years. While there, he worked at Salina Concrete Products. Raymond owned and operated a grocery store and Aqua Pump and Pipe Company in Quinter. Raymond and Ruth moved to Ulysses in March of 2012. Raymond enjoyed woodworking as his hobby. Raymond and Ruth enjoyed camping, traveling and wintered in Port Aransas, Texas for 17 years. He was a member of the American Legion in Quinter and the Quinter Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of Ulysses, Kansas; son Keith Goff and wife Kathy of Ulysses, Kansas; daughter, Linda Finley and husband Bob of Garden City, Kansas; brother, Maurice Goff and wife Nancy of Wichita, Kansas; four grandchildren, Carla Smith and husband Don, Sheila Mason and husband Heath, Laura Schumock and husband Rod, Lee Hutchinson and wife Robbin; and six great-grandchildren, Jacob and Sarah Smith, Alyssa and Matthew Blakesley, and Amanda and Ryan Mason.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Wesley Goff.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Ulysses, Kansas with Reverend Janet Hernandez officiating. Graveside service will be Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 3:30 PM at Quinter Baker Township Cemetery in Quinter, Kansas with Pastor Kennedy Mukwindidza officiating. Friends may call Monday, September 3, 2012 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
