Pat Borthwick: UPDATE

Patricia Ann “Pat” Borthwick, age 79, of Ulysses, Kansas died Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at The Legacy at Park View in Ulysses, Kansas. She was born May 8, 1933 in Grant County Kansas, the daughter of Okel and Theresa (Johnson) Boylan.

Pat attended Rock Island Grade School and was a 1950 graduate of Grant County High School . She then attended Fort Hays State University . She was a bookkeeper for Grant County Feeders. She enjoyed square dancing, loved sunflowers, and rivers and camping. Pat was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She married Fred Borthwick on July 3, 1982 in Ulysses, Kansas .

Pat is survived by her husband, Fred of the home; children, Stacey Bradley of Grand Junction, Colorado, Kimberly Trexler and husband Brad of Hill City, Kansas, Kirby Bradley and wife Sue of Garden City, Kansas, Shelley McLeod of Longmont, Colorado; stepchildren, Larry Borthwick and wife Paulette of Rye, Colorado, Jerry Borthwick and wife Cindy of Ulysses, Kansas, Marvin Borthwick and wife RaeLyn of Ulysses, Kansas, Bryan Borthwick and wife Carla of Ulysses, Kansas, Nancy Borthwick of Emporia; brother, John Boylan and wife Eula of Ulysses, Kansas; 14 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 1:30 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Ulysses, Kansas with Reverend Janet Hernandez officiating. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery . Friends may call Friday, August 24, 2012 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with family present from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses. Memorial contributions may be given to the Donor’s Choice or the First United Methodist Church of Ulysses in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave , Ulysses , KS 67880 .
