Mallory Nicole Meyer, age 23 of Ulysses, Kansas died Tuesday, May 8, 2012 in Canyon City, Colorado. She was born May 5, 1989 in Lakin, Kansas, the daughter of Galen H. Meyer and Dana S. Kennedy.
Mallory attended school in Ulysses, Kansas and graduated from Ulysses High School in 2007. She obtained her associates degree from Garden City Community College and was a licensed CNA. Mallory was working toward furthering her nursing career and was currently participating in the LPN program at Garden City Community College. Mallory was very ambitious and held numerous jobs; she worked at the Golf Club at Southwind, Parkview Assisted Living, The Legacy at Park View, Saxon Chiropractic, Total Entertainment, Area Mental Health Center, and Georgia Mathews Elementary School. Mallory was a very tender and thoughtful person. She loved animals, nature and the mountains.
Survivors include one daughter; Nora Meyer of Ulysses, Kansas, her parents; Galen Meyer of Ulysses, Kansas, Dana Kennedy of Ulysses, Kansas, one brother; Justin Meyer and wife Allison of San Francisco, California, one grandmother; Wanda Kennedy of Ulysses, Kansas and a number of Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
Mallory is preceded in death by her grandparents; William and Margaret Meyer and Leonard Kennedy.
Memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Ulysses, Kansas, with Father Dale Lumley and Reverend Sam Bynum officiating. The family suggests memorials be given to the Mallory Meyer Memorial Fund, for the benefit of Nora Meyer, in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant, Ulysses, Kansas 67880.
