Bob Ottaway

Bob R. Ottaway, 81, of Hooker, Oklahoma passed away January 30, 2012 at BSA Hospice in Amarillo, Texas.

Bob was born January 27, 1931 in Tyrone, Oklahoma the son of Eugene and Lillian Lewis Ottaway. He graduated from Tyrone High School with the Class of 1949 and then entered the US Army in 1951. He was honorably discharge in 1954.

In 1955 he was united in marriage to Emma Gene Talley. She passed away in 1967.

On December 27, 1967 he was united in marriage to Betty Wray Nickels.

Bob worked for Northern Natural Gas Co., National Helium, before moving to Kansas City to work for Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Co.

He was the owner and operator of Sir Speedy Printing beginning in 1972 and operated the business until 2006. They moved to Hooker in 2004.

Bob was a member of Grand Lodge of Oklahoma, I.O.O.F. in July 3, 1957. He was active in the care of the Tyrone Cemetery and enjoyed spending time with all his friends and family and enjoyed watching OU football.

Survivors include his wife Betty of the home; three sons and their wives, Woody Nickels and Lana of Cooper Canyon, Texas, Rick Ottaway and Susan of Batesville, Arkansas, Mark Ottaway and Pamela of Overland Park, Kansas; four daughters, Laura Marsh of Hooker, Oklahoma, Coreen Jury and husband Larry of Ozawkie, Kansas, Patti Hayworth of Hooker, Oklahoma, Dana Dycus of Hooker, Oklahoma; twelve grandchildren, Michael Ottaway, Jordan Ottaway, Jesse Nickels, Sabra Nickels, Kelsey Ottaway, Shannan Wray, Amber Carrender, Zack Jury, Daniel Jury, Jared Jury, Dalton Hayworth, Hunter Brown; five great grandchildren, Laura Wray, Sabra Stoughton-Wray, Drew Stoughton-Wray, Chaise Carrender, Kylie Carrender.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2012 at the First Christian Church in Hooker, Oklahoma with Rev. Roy Berkley officiating. Arrangements are conducted by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Inc. in Hooker, Oklahoma.
