Wayne H. “Jack” Robertson

Wayne H. “Jack” Robertson, age 93, of Elkhart, Kansas died November 03, 2011 at the Morton County Hospital in Elkhart,Kansas. He was born September 28, 1918 in Rice, Kansas the son of George and Ova D. (Horton) Robertson.

Jack grew up and went to school in Wilburton and was a lifetime resident of Elkhart. Jack served our country during World War II. Jack marred Margret G. “Marty” Sanford on September 15, 1940 inElkhart. He was the owner of Robertson Tank Service and also farmed. Jack had the honor of being Man of the Year, Pioneer Man of the Year, a volunteer fireman, and was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include one son, Cruz W. Robertson of Amarillo, Texas; three daughters, Karen M. Loveland and husband Ken of Grand Junction, Colorado, Sandra K. Henry and husband Les of Lansing, Michigan, Deb Serrato and husband Mike of Elkhart, Kansas; one brother, Vernon Robertson of Missouri; 12 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marty; and sons, Edward Wayne Robertson, Jacky Robertson and great grandson, Corey W. Talbert.

Funeral service will be held Monday, November 7, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Morton County Civic Center in Elkhart, Kansas with Reverend Keith Davis and Reverend Jimmye Cole officiating. Interment will follow at the Elkhart Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the VFW Lodge #3162 and Masonic Lodge Burial Rites. Friends may call Sunday, November 6, 2011 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart. Memorials may be given to the Cal Farley Boys Ranch or the Whistle Stop Park in care of Garnand Funeral Home, PO Box 854, Elkhart, KS 67950.
