Porfirio Garcia

Porfirio Garcia, age 64, of Johnson, Kansas, died Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart, Kansas. He was born September 15, 1947 in Cusihuriachi, Mexico the son of Francisco and Evangelina (Fernandez) Garcia. Porfirio married Luz Guaderrama on October 31, 1971 in Cuauhtemoc, Mexico. The most important thing in his life was his family. Porfirio was a very passionate father who was always whistling, smiling and making sure his family was well taken care of. He was very proud of his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed spending time on the farm with his cattle. Porfirio was a member of the St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Johnson, Kansas. He moved to the Johnson area in 1997 and was a truck driver for Dillco Fluid Service.

He is survived by his wife, Luz Garcia; three sons, Jorge Garcia of Joplin, Missouri, Ricardo Garcia of Guymon, Oklahoma, Guillermo Guaderrama of New Port, West Virginia; four daughters, Veronica Medina of Ulysses, Kansas, Evangelina Morningstar of Joplin, Missouri, Selia Garcia of Pittsburg, Kansas, Elizabeth Garcia of Pittsburg, Kansas; his father, Francisco Garcia of Cuauhtemoc, Mexico; four brothers, Miguel, Javier, Oscar, and Cesar; five sisters, Isabel, Juana, Lidia, Ortensia, and Beatriz; and grandchildren, Kyle Guaderrama, Jordan Medina, Tiffany Garcia, Jannette Garcia, Gaberiel Garcia, Nathan Guaderrama, Isabel Garcia, Solomon Garcia, Adryan Medina, Eli Garcia, Anna Garcia, Abigail Garcia, Aizik Garcia, Naythan Medina, Katherine Garcia, and Luizan Medina.

Porfirio is preceded in death by his mother, Evangelina Garcia; and brother, Moncerrat Garcia.

Visitation: October 5, 2011 from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM and from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM, Thursday, October 06, 2011 at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson, Kansas.
Funeral Service: 10:00 AM, Friday, October 07, 2011 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Johnson, Kansas with Father Trong Binh Tran officiating.
Interment: Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson, Kansas.

Vigil service will be Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 7:00 PM at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Johnson, Kansas.
