Thelma Katrina Morgan, age 94, died Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Via Christi Regional Medical Center – St. Francis Campus in Wichita, Kansas. She was born November 17, 1916 at Copeland, Kansas the daughter of William and Marie (Lewis) Nusser.
Thelma married Ray A. Morgan on May 28, 1943. She later married Earl Shandy who preceded her in death and then married Frank Davidson. She was a graduate of Emporia State University with a Masters Degree. Thelma was a retired school teacher with 17 years of service. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hugoton, Kansas, Kansas Retired Teachers Association, National Retired Teachers Association, American Agriculture Movement and several camping groups.
Survivors include three daughters, Raylene West (Mark) of Dighton, Kansas, Cynthia (Al) Tonry and Oleta Smeltzer both of Derby, Kansas; two sons, Eric (Janice) Morgan of Hugoton, Kansas, Hal (Beth) Morgan of Silver Star, Montana; brother, Linn Nusser of Portland, Oregon, four sisters, Treva Campbell and Lucille DeVine of Canyon City, Colorado, Rose Tornowski of Hugo, Colorado; 11 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters: Lida (at birth), Maleta Redpath and Cozena Garrett plus 4 brothers: Del, Gale, Dene and Lewis Nusser.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 28, 2011 at First United Methodist Church in Hugoton, Kansas with Pastor Harry Cross officiating. Graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Copeland Cemetery at Copeland, Kansas. Friends may call Friday, May 27, 2011 from 2:00 until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Hugoton, Kansas.
