Dodge City Hands LHS Girls Soccer Opening Loss

Liberal opened their soccer season with a 4-1 loss at Dodge City Thursday night at Dodge City Memorial Stadium.

The Red Demons led 3-0 at the half. Liberal scored off a free kick in the second half with 27 minutes to play. Carolina Limon scored from 30 yards out. Coach Carlos Ruiz says in the first half Liberal was flat footed but in the second half kept attacking and controlled most of the half but had one break down on defense. Dodge led shots on goal 12-6 but led 10-1 after one half. Reyna Gonzalez had eight saves. Liberal hosts Borger Friday night at about 5:45 at Cornelsen Sports Complex. The Bulldogs are in a different portion of their schedule as this is their final game before postseason. JV begins at 4. The JV tield DCHS 1-1.
