Dodge City Keeps Liberal Girls at Arm’s Length

In a workmanlike effort, Dodge City’s Lady Demons came to Liberal and won 52-36. Dodge City has won 12 consecutive WAC games.

The Lady Demons led 16-9 after one quarter and 30-17 at halftime and 44-31 after three quarters.

The Lady Demons shot 46 percent from the field and held the Lady Redskins to 26 percent shooting. Liberal’s advantage was at the free throw line where they were 16-23 and DCHS was 2-9. Dodge was 4-15 from three point range and LHS was 0-5. Liberal committed 17 turnovers while Dodge had just four.

Jade Mickens scored 11 for LHS in the loss and Dodge City’s Bailey Shelor scored 16.

Dodge is 6-3 and 2-0 in the WAC while Liberal is 6-3 and 2-1 in the WAC. Liberal plays at Salina South Thursday at 6:30 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
