Experienced LHS Girls Golf Looks Improved
KSCB News - September 10, 2015 1:33 pm
Surely experience is a factor in high school golf. And if it is, LHS should be improved. Playing a similar schedule on some of the same courses and handling nerves should be old hat for at least five of Liberal’s six varsity players who return from last year’s team. Three players competed at state last fall. Third year head coach Jessica Tercero says her players are better than they were a year ago and is pleased with 16 players out for the sport.
Liberal’s varsity includes Sr. Sarah Rangel, Jrs. Hannah Chacon, Sarah Bayouth, and Kaitlyn Van Vleet, and sophs. Cory Mein and Sarah Aichele. Rangel, Chacon, Bayouth, Mein, and Aichele are returning starters and Rangel, Chacon, and Mein made state last season. Liberal’s girls golf team was featured during the Thursday Sportsguys. The show airs weekday mornings between 7:37 and 9 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
