Liberal’s Riley Shoots 87 and Rolla’s Huddleston 8th

KSCB News - May 27, 2015 7:27 am

Liberal freshman Cameron Riley shot an 87 at 5A state in Newton Tuesday. He shot a 41 on the back nine to begin the day and carded a 46 on the front nine. His head coach Eli Svaty says the freshman competed well.

"He made some great shots throughout the day, but a couple of doubles hurt him on the front. He battled and sunk some great putts for par and it is exciting to think that he is only a freshman. He has three more years to make it back to state and card a great score."

Meanwhile at 1A in Seneca, Rolla sent their full team to state. Senior Chandler Huddleston finished eighth with an 83. Michael Burnett was 38th with a 103. At 2A in Emporia, Stanton County was 11th as a team.
