Lady Redskins Hold Down Hays

This is what Liberal coach Bill Baird expected when the season began. Great effort, high energy, lots of girls involved, creating turnovers, and able to score all over the floor. That is what we saw Friday night as the Liberal Lady Redskins beat the Hays Lady Indians 47-31 in the Big House.

Liberal led 16-11 after one quarter and led 22-11 and 24-13. It was 26-19 LHS at the half. LHS led 36-26 after three quarters.

Liberal made 12-15 free throws while HHS was 5-14.

Megan Besecker scored 14 points and made four three pointers. Kelly Ramirez scored a career high 14.

LHS is 2-5 and 1-0 in the WAC while Hays is 3-4 and 0-1 in the WAC. Liberal hosts Garden City Tuesday at 6 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
