Redskins Shut Out TMP

The second ranked Liberal Redskins pitched a soccer shutout at Thomas Moore Prep in Hays Thursday. The Monarchs only got three shots on goal while Liberal fired 16 in Liberal’s 3-0 win. The Redskins are 7-1.

Eliel Gonzalez scored the first goal thanks to an assist from Brian Alvarez. Elmer Rivero’s goal was a beautiful shot from 25 yards out thanks to an assist from Alejandro Gutierrez. Pedro Lara scored Liberal’s third goal thanks to an Elmer Rivero assist on a corner kick.

Liberal hosts Wichita North Saturday at the Cornelsen Sports Complex with the JV game at 1 and the varsity at about 2:45.
