For the first time this season, the Seward County Lady Saints are on the board in the Jayhawk West Defensive Player of the Week category as Tuesday the league announced that Seward sophomore libero Kari Anderson took home the title this week after averaging 5.67 digs per set in five Lady Saint matches.

Anderson moved into 7th place on the Lady Saints all-time digs list this week, averaging 5.67 digs per set, totaling 102 total digs on the week for Seward. Wednesday against Hutchinson she notched 20 digs in a four set loss to the Dragons. In Seward’s first match of the day on Friday in the Wyo-Braska Shootout, Anderson registered a career high 35 digs in a thrilling five set win for the Lady Saints. She wrapped up the week with 21 digs in a three set match against Central Wyoming.

Anderson and the Lady Saints will be back in action this weekend in the Greenhouse as they host the 2014 Ozfest Invitational Tournament on Friday and Saturday with matches at 12:00 and 6:00 both days.
