Booneville Rallies Past Rattlers in Liberal Regional

The joint was jumping Friday night. Brent Gould Field was packed with enthusiasm and energy for 13 year old boys playing on the home of the Seward County Saints. The feature game pitted the host Cimarron River Rattlers from Liberal and Booneville, Missouri. The Kansas state champion Rattlers built a 5-1 lead after two and a 6-3 lead after four before the flood gates opened for Booneville. The Missouri state champs scored four in the fifth and six in the sixth. The Rattlers walked eight, beaned four, and committed seven errors in the loss. The Rattlers had five hits.

Alex Yanez and Dylan Thompson both provided two RBI singles in the first for a 4-0 lead in the first. Xavier Perez walked with the bases loaded in the second to lead 5-1. Jett Brown doubled home a run in the fourth. Alex Yanez pitched into the fifth but ran out of gas and the bullpen struggled to throw strikes. Elijah McCarter won MVP for the game and Jett Brown won the WOW Award.
