The Liberal Bee Jays are 4-0 after completing a sweep against the Albuquerque Diablos Monday night at Brent Gould Field. The BJ’s topped the Diablos 11-3.

Both teams scored two in the first. Liberal notched a run in the third to lead 3-2. Albuquerque tied it at 3-3 with a run in the fourth. Liberal took a 5-3 lead with two runs in the fourth. Liberal added five in the seventh and one in the eighth.

Liberal and Albuquerque both had 10 hits a piece. The Diablos had four errors.

Patrick Kulick drove home three runs and doubled. Alec Isaac drove home two runs. Mike Rampone doubled in the win. Colorado School of Mines pitcher Nathan Smythe and Buffalo’s Brent Cleland pitched two scoreless innings a piece. Texas A&M Kingsville’s Ryan Scott pitched a scoreless ninth.

Liberal is 4-0 and hosts Dodge City for the Jayhawk League opener Thursday night at 7 on 1270 and kscbnews.net. Billy’s is the buyout sponsor so admission is free.
