Liberal senior Trenton Hammond is the Mead Lumber Athlete of the Week. Hammond has the best times in the state in the 110 hurdles at 14.30 and the 300 hurdles at 38.20. He won state in the 300 hurdles his freshman and junior years and has won the hurdles in every meet this season. He also runs on the 4×400 relay team with Erving and Eli Altamirano and Edwin Sobalvarro. He is on the 4×100 relay with Misael Gonzalez, Eli Altamirano, and Edwin Sobalvarro. Hammond is an all state football player and will play at Hutchinson next season. He and the Redskins travel to Goddard for the Goddard Invitational track and field meet Friday.
