LHS Boys Tennis Team Competes for WAC Title

Garden City won the spring’s first WAC championship Monday afternoon in Garden City. Liberal finished fourth in the WAC boys tennis tournament. The Buffaloes scored 14 while Dodge City came in second with 10. Great Bend edged Liberal for third with seven and six points respectively and Hays had three.

Liberal’s number one singles player Buddy Buchanon, number two singles player Mitchell Irby, and number two doubles team Ho Ho with Sergio Borjas all took third. Payton Grant and Carlos Hernandez were at number one singles.

Liberal competes at regionals in Ark City Saturday. They will compete with Ark City. Goddard, Goddard Eisenhower, Bishop Carroll, Kapaun, and Wichita West at the Louderback Family Tennis Complex in Ark City.
