Seven Run Seventh Helps Saints Sweep Conqs

The Seward County baseball team scored seven runs in the seventh of game two to rally for a 10-5 win and a sweep over the Dodge City Conquistadors Sunday at Cavalier Field in Dodge City. The Saints won the first game 11-0 in five innings.
In game one, JB Olson (3-1) pitched all five innings of the SCCC win. Seward scored five in the first, two in the second, one in the fourth, and three in the fifth. Bryson Allen was 3-3 with a homer, double, and three RBI’s. Jake Fuller was 3-4 with three runs while Brent Williams was 1-2 with a double and three RBI’s.
In game two, Dodge City bolted to a 3-0 lead in the first and led 5-3 into the seventh against Seward starter Brent Bezio. But Seward exploded for seven in the seventh with the big hit being a two RBI double into right center by Connor Smith to score the tying and lead runs to make it 6-5. Keenan Hall earned the win out of the bullpen going four and two-thirds innings scoreless. Brent Williams homered and doubled and was 3-5 with three RBI’s. Jordan Leinweber added a solo homerun. Mason Marshall was 2-4 with an RBI double in the win.
Seward is 14-8 and 5-1 in the Jayhawk West as the Conqs fall to 11-5 and 3-3. The same two teams meet Monday at 3 p.m. at Dodge City on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
