Liberal Collapses Late in Garden City

Liberal let a chance to turn their season around slip right through their fingers Tuesday night. The Redskins led 32-28 with five minutes remaining before the Buffaloes stampeded to a 14-2 run to end the game and win 42-34 in the Garden. The Redskins turned the ball over often late in the game ande barely got a shot off in the game’s closing minutes.

Liberal led 10-5 early and 12-9 after a quarter. The Skins’ biggest lead was 17-11. The Buffs tied the game at 21-21 at halftime and the game was tied 28-28 after three.

Hayden Coker led Liberal with nine in the loss. The Buffaloes with their third straight in the series. Liberal is 2-6 and 0-2 in the WAC as Garden goes to 6-3 and 2-1 in the WAC. LHS plays Palmer Ridge, Colorado January 23 at 6:30 at the Colby Orange and Black Classic which will air on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
