After a standout week for the Lady Saints, Seward County freshman
outside hitter Carolina Gasparini has been named the Jayhawk West
Co-Player of the Week as announced by the league on Tuesday.

Gasparini led Seward County to three wins last week including a win in
their Jayhawk West Conference opener and two wins over ranked opponents.
Friday, Gasparini put on a show in the Vernon Labor Day Classic,
finishing off 27 kills and pulling up 17 digs in a pair of matches. In
the Lady Saints first match of the day she had 11 kills and 6 digs in a
3-0 win over D3 #2 Brookhaven and in the nightcap of Seward’s
double-header, she had a season high 16 kills and 11 digs in her third
double-double of the year. Saturday against Brookhaven she did it
again, pounding down 15 kills in a 3-0 sweep while hitting .480, the
highest by any Seward player in a match this season. On the week she
averaged 3.00 kills and 2.06 digs per set.

She currently leads the Lady Saints in kills with 87 on the season and
is 3rd on the team with 11 aces and 4th in digs with 65.

She shares the weekly honor with Lorena Rosario of Colby.

Gasparini and the Lady Saints will be back in action on Wednesday as
they head to Great Bend to take on Jayhawk West rival Barton at 6:30.
