Meade Continues Momentum into 2013 Season

KSCB News - September 3, 2013 1:50 pm

The Meade Buffaloes are the gold standard right now not only for football in our listening area, but all of class 2A. Meade was 12-1 last year and won their second state title in the past three years. The Buffs are 34-3 the past three seasons as Scott Moshier’s teams have won 10 or more games the previous five seasons.

This season the Buffaloes have 43 out for football at the 2A school. They return six starters back on offense and four on defense. But only one of the offensive players returns to the same position he played last year. The good news is this group is blessed with talent and a knowledge of Meade’s single wing offense which they have been running since they were in grade school.

Key Buffaloes include: Sr. TB/DB Jett Little, Sr. C/DE Garrett Blehm, Sr. OL/NG Tate Schloctmeier, Sr. TE/DE Morgan Davis, Sr. OL/DL Zach Norris, Sr. FB/LB Morgan Olvera, Sr. BB/LB Jordan Woodruff, and Sr. TE/DB Dalton Wiens.

Meade has lost a lot of talent from the past few years. Six are playing college ball including Jordan Moshier (OLB at Tabor), Kellen Hernandez (WR/RB at Ottawa), Trevin Wiens (WR at Garden City), Kris Hardaway (WR at Garden City), Manny Castillo (OL at Dodge City), and Randy Friesen who suits up and wears number 73 at Kansas State but will likely redshirt.

Meade was featured during the Tuesday Sportsguys.
