Goodwell, Okla.—Throughout the year the Oklahoma Panhandle State University Rodeo Arena plays host to a wide variety of rodeo schools designed to improve the skills of riders and ropers of all levels.
The fall lineup of classes begins with the Mike Hillman Memorial Breakaway Roping School August 15-16 with eight-time World Champion Cowboy Joe Beaver as the instructor; Beaver will also direct the Calf Roping School which runs August 17-18. The cost for each roping school is $500 and both will be held at the OPSU Rodeo Arena.
Fall Jackpots will begin in September along with two other rodeo schools. A Barrel Racing School will run Sept. 14-15 followed by a Team Roping session on Sept. 15-16. Barrel racing will be led by Jeanne Davis, NFR Qualifier and several-time Circuit Champion; the cost for this class is $250. The cost for team roping is $350 and that school will be taught by Rich Skelton, eight-time World Champion.
OPSU graduate and rodeo alumna Kaylee Moyer will wrap things up in the arena as she teaches the Justin Harrington Memorial Goat Tying School Oct. 26-27; the cost for this session is $250.
Information on all camps is available on the OPSU athletics website www.opsuaggies.com and can be found on the Rodeo page under the "Additional Links" tab by selecting the "Rodeo Forms" option; release and entry forms for the schools can also be found at this location.
