Seward Splits Sophomore Day

Seward County’s softball team split a double header on Sophomore Day at Lady Saints Field Sunday afternoon. Seward won 4-3 but lost 9-4 for thye split.
In game one, Otero scored two in the third to take the lead before Seward struck for two in the fifth to tie it against a team who swept them when they played earlier this season in La Junta. Otero plated a seventh inning run but Seward scored two in the bottom of the inning to win in dramatic fashion. Rachel Shockley belted a two RBI double and Marissa Chavez had two hits. Brittney Sharkey pitched Seward to the win.
Otero won game two 9-4 building a 5-2 lead after four and a 9-2 lead going to the bottom of the seventh. Becky Allen was 3-3 in the loss.
Seward is 31-22 and plays at #1 Butler Monday at 2 p.m. in El Dorado.
