Redskins Strike Late in Guymon Win

Liberal used an eight run sixth to run past Guymon 12-7 Friday afternoon at the Liberal Baseball Complex. The Redskins get back to .500 at 3-3.

Liberal got off to a good start scoring two in the first and two in the second. The Tigers rallied to take a 5-4 lead going to the bottom of the sixth. The Redskins scored eight in the sixth to lead 12-5. Liberal out-hit the Tigers 14-12.

Brandyn Terrazas was 4-4 with three RBI’s and a double. Christian Hernandez was 2-4 with a key triple to left center in the sixth which drove home the lead run. Jared Hasik had three stolen bases. Albert Aldaz started the game on the mound and went four innings allowing two runs. Liberal hitters struck out twice while Redskins pitchers tallied nine strikeouts.

Liberal hosts Great Bend for their WAC opener Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the Liberal Baseball Complex.
