Barton Sinks Seward

The Barton Cougars beat the Jayhawk West champion Seward County Saints 70-64 Friday night at Hartman Arena in Park City in the Region 6 semifinals. The Saints misfired from three point range going 3-18. Seward shot just 38 percent while Barton outrebounded the Saints 41-36.

Algie Key led the 28-5 #24 Cougars with 22. Seward’s Kaheem Ransom had 14 on 4-13 shooting. Jabari Peters scored 11 on 3-16 shooting.

Barton bolted to a 20-10 lead before leading 36-34 at halftime. Seward actually led most of the second half and led 51-46 and 60-55.

Seward finishes 25-8.
