Meade Girls Make Another Trip to State

Meade’s girls are getting used to this. Even after a topsy turvy season which was plagued by sickness and inconsistencies, the result is the same. Meade makes state for a third straight season after a 75-57 win over Elkhart at Elkhart Saturday and a 56-39 win over Hodgeman County in the semis.
The Lady Buffs are 14-8 are led by senior Kinzie Friesen who averages 14 points and eight rebounds per game. Sophomore Bailey Olvera averages 10 points per game and sophomore Tarah Wiens scores seven a game.
Coach Craig Batchman is in his fourth season as head coach and has taken his last three Meade teams to state.
Meade is the #8 seed and plays #1 seed 21-2 Jefferson County North at 3 p.m. Thursday in Manhattan.
#4 20-3 Moundridge meets #5 19-3 Northern Heights at 4:45 and the winners meet Friday at 3.
The #2 seed is 21-2 Smith Center they play 17-6 Sedan at 6:30 and #3 20-3 Sterling faces 18-5 Belleville.
