Forgan and Texhoma Handed First Losses

Both Forgan and Texhoma lost for the first time on the first day of December. Tipton won the Class C state title over Forgan (12-1) 30-12 Saturday in Weatherford and Ringling beat Texhoma 35-21 in the Class A semifinals in Enid.
Forgan led 12-6 at halftime in pursuit of the school’s second state football championship. But Tipton held Forgan to just 28 yards in the second half. Dalton Lemieux scored a touchdown and was 4-7 for 101 yards passing in the loss. Tipton finishes 14-0.
Texhoma tied their game 7-7 in the first quarter after Brandon Gipe caught a touchdown from quarterback Jack Powers. Bryson Beattie hauled in a 31 yard TD pass from Powers to give Texhoma a 14-7 lead. But Ringling scored two unanswered touchdowns to lead 20-14 at halftime. Ringling scored the only TD of the third quarter and built a 35-14 lead before a Beattie three yard run. The Red Devils finish 12-1.
