Maybe the third time will be a charm. Liberal will play Hays to begin the 5A state soccer tournament. The Redskins earned a first round home game thanks to their 2-1 win at Dodge City Thursday. Had they lost that game, they would have gone on the road in the first round. Liberal is the #8 seed out of 16 teams in the south central regional. The 7-8-1 Redskins play #9 seed 6-8-2 Hays who swept LHS during the regular season. The winner would likely play at top seed Salina Central Thursday. The Skins will host Hays Tuesday at 6 p.m. Here are the south central standings.
