Redskins Play Wrong Cards in Great Bend

The last time they played, they celebrated a crowning moment and a state championship in Kansas City last November. But on a hot August evening in Great Bend, the #5 Liberal soccer team boarded their bus scratching their heads wondering what went wrong in a 3-0 loss at Great Bend.

The game was very controversial as Liberal played one player short for most of the game due to a red card. The officials called tripping in the box which Liberal believed was the incorrect call. There were also three yellow cards and one to head coach Lori Navarro.

With all of those cards stacked against them, Liberal trailed the shots on goal category 19-4.

The 0-1 Redskins play Derby in the Wichita South Titan Classic Monday. The class 6A Panthers already have a win over #4 Kapaun 5-3 earlier this week.
