Eight is Enough for Satanta
KSCB News - August 20, 2012 2:47 pm
There is no sense in Satanta playing the likes of Meade and Stanton County anytime in the near future. That’s pretty much the consensus around the Haskell County town where the Indians will play in 8 man division 1 and face Spearville, South Gray, Minneola, Jetmore, and Deerfield rather than 2A schools like Meade, Stanton County, Elkhart, Syracuse, and arch rival Sublette. Moscow may now become a rival for the Indians who were 0-9 last season and hovered around the low teens in number of a SHS football players late in the season. This year, the Indians are up to 17 players with four seniors, no juniors, and the other 13 are freshmen and sophomores. Third year head coach Dirk Cannon brings back three starters on both sides of the ball.
Key Satanta Indians include: senior rb/lb Abraham Miramontes; senior wr/s Garrett Pickens; senior g/de Bernie Fuentes; senior qb/cb Mathew Leggett; and sophomore ol/de Adrian Longoria. The Indians were featured during the Monday morning Sportsguys. Click on the audio icon to hear the interview.
