A Big Beaver Team Aims to be Better
KSCB News - August 15, 2012 1:46 pm
Beaver has size on their side. The Dusters don’t have a great deal of depth, but they do have a great deal of size on their line. The Dusters return seven starters on both sides of the ball from last year’s 5-5 team. Success isn’t to far back in the rear view mirror as Beaver is just two years removed from a 9-2 season.
Potential pitfalls lie in the numbers. Beaver has only 23 players out for football at the Class A school. But they have quality out for football for 18th year head coach Mike McVay.
Beaver boasts big boys on the line like 6’3" 225 pound senior tackle Kalen Gable; 6’2" 220 pound junior G/DE Chris Cates; 6′ 250 pound senior guard Andy Bennett; and 6’1" 215 pound junior tackle Jorge Rivera. Junior C/G Emory Tillman is another returning starter on the line.
The Dusters will break in a new quarterback this season in junior Dylan Cain. His best weapons include: senior rb/lb Ryan Nash; senior fb/lb Heath Thomas; senior wr/db Caleb McDonald; junior wb Drake Zimmerman; and senior wr Austin Ingalls.
The Dusters were featured during the Wednesday edition of the Sportsguys.
