Ulysses High School announces the hiring of Tim Hofferber as the new head
girls basketball coach. He will replace Eric Flaton after a 5-14 season in 2012.
Hofferber has been the Guymon High School head girls basketball coach for
the past 6 years and compiled a record of 67 wins and 78 losses. His teams
were the Class 4A Regional Consolation Champions in 2008, and won back to
back District Championships in 2009 and 2010. Hofferber was twice named
the Guymon Daily Herald Area Coach of the Year, once in 2008 and again in
2010. Also, in 2010 he was named as the K101 Bowl West All-Stars Girls
Basketball Coach. Hofferber served as the Class 4A Board Member to the
Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association from 2008 to 2011.
"I am very excited about joining the team at Ulysses High School. The
administration has great vision for the program and Tiger athletics has a
rich tradition of winning. This community has a lot of school pride and the
facilities here at Ulysses are some of the best in this region."
Hofferber’s new coaching job will have a couple of things that will be very
familiar to him, since both his former team and his new team share the same
mascot "Tigers" and the same school colors "Orange and Black". "It’s all
about the kids. We will put together a program that will foster a
championship effort and a championship attitude, so they can be winners
both on and off the court."
