Seward saved some of their worst baseball for last in a lackluster 13-5 run rule loss to Colby Saturday night at Brent Gould Field. The Saints committed errors at a dizzying pace totaling seven for the night and four errors during a seven run second inning. Colby scored one in the first, seven in the second, and five in the fifth. Seward finishes 33-25 on the season. Colby plays the loser of Sunday’s 1 p.m. winner’s bracket game between Allen and Coffeyville. This marks just the second time in nine years the Saints won’t be playing in the Region 6 Tournament in Wichita. The other year was 2007 when Independence shocked the Saints in Liberal.
