Destyni Lucero is Mead Lumber Athlete of the Week

Liberal High School junior long distance runner Destyni Lucero is the Mead Lumber Athlete of the Week. Lucero won a pair of gold medals at Haysville Friday in the mile and the two mile. She ran the mile in 5:30 at Great Bend and the two mile in 12:03 at Great Bend. Lucero will run the wheel at Friday’s meet in Hutchinson. She will compete in agruably the toughest four events in the 800, 1600, 3200, and the 4×800 relay.

Lucero finished 22nd at the state cross country meet in November.
